About Us

Uintah Highlands Improvement District was created in 1966 as a Special Service District and is now considered a Local District as described under Utah Code 17B.

Our district covers an approximate area of 1,338.5 acres in Weber County with 1,210 acres located in the unincorporated area of Weber County, 108.5 acres having been annexed into South Ogden City - which is mostly the commercial area adjacent to Hwy 89, 12.25 acres is a residential part of Uintah Town and 7.75 acres is a residential part of Ogden City. These areas are served by Uintah Highlands providing culinary drinking water and in 1987 a sanitary sewer system was added. In 2023 the district had just under 1,000 water and sewer connections.

The district continues to comply with all requirements mandated by local, state, and federal governments. This includes financial and budgeting mandates along with monitoring and testing of our culinary water, conservation plans, protection plans, emergency plans, etc.
